Typical Skirts began with a moment — one that changed the way we looked at skirts forever.
My wife has always worn shorts with her skirts, and my grandfather had been creating custom clothing for her for years. Clothing was already woven into our family’s rhythm. Then one day, during a simple family conversation, an idea came to me in an instant — a way to combine beauty, modesty, comfort, and true functionality in a skirt. From that moment on, I couldn’t look at skirts the same way again.
What started as a personal observation became a spark of innovation. And that spark grew into Typical Skirts.
Our earliest prototypes were handmade by my grandfather — the same hands that had been tailoring garments for our family. Those first pieces carried more than fabric and thread; they carried heart, purpose, and a vision to create a skirt that genuinely empowers women in their everyday lives.

This belief inspired us to develop our patent-pending pocket access system, a discreet design that allows you to reach a secure pocket anchored within the shorts or leggings underneath, without ever lifting or adjusting the skirt.
